Transforming an Old Deck
In the above pictures, you can see a Moneta home we renovated for a client. Their existing home design had a deck that, while nice, wasn’t fulfilling their needs. We removed the original deck and replaced it with two sunrooms; one opens up from the kitchen to create a stunning dining area with beautiful views over Smith Mountain Lake, while the other sunroom forms a sitting area off the master bedroom. In between the two sunrooms is a deck that can be accessed from either sunroom, as well as from the main house, so that the clients can still enjoy the outdoors when the weather is nice.
Adding Needed Space
For this client in Salem, we added a dining area with a vaulted ceiling, a screened porch, and a small deck that’s just large enough for a grill. We gave our client extra space and seamlessly blended their addition into their home’s existing façade by making sure the roof ties into the existing home just under the upstairs window. We also matched the siding and blended the roof color so that the addition looked like it had always been part of the house, because we know how important it is that your home have a cohesive, tied-together appearance.
